a. The marathon. While it’s been in the Olympics since 1896, the distance of 26.2 miles or 42.195 km wasn’t standardized until 1921. - What’s the shortest Track & Field event in the Olympics?
a. The 100-meter dash. Usain Bolt, the current record holder, ran the race in 9.58 seconds. - What Olympic event is a compilation of 10 separate events?
a. The decathlon. It includes a 100-, 400-, and 1500-meter race, long jump, high jump, shot put, discus, pole vault, javelin throw, and 110-meter hurdles. - What Olympic event has numerous barriers and water jumps?
a. The steeplechase. The 3000-meter steeplechase has 28 barriers and 7 water jumps. - What event is also called the hop, step, and jump?
